Skin Deep accessibility

This week I’ll be writing about some of the accessibility features in Skin Deep.

Game

For gameplay, we have options to:

• Toggle blood effects: toggle blood particles & decals.
• Toggle hit effects: toggle screen effects that happen when you take damage.
• Toggle screenshake: toggle effects that shake the screen.
• Toggle headbob: toggle ambient movement of screen when you move.
• Adjust damage you receive: scale amount of damage inflicted on you.
• Perception multiplier: scales duration of time needed for enemies to notice you.
• One-hit kill: this makes enemies get destroyed in one hit.
• Button prompts:
  • by default, Skin Deep will automatically switch its button prompts to your current active control type.
  • Example: if you use keyboard and mouse, it will show keyboard and mouse prompts. If you use a Playstation 5 gamepad, it will show Playstation 5 button prompts.
  • The Button Prompts option allows you to force the game to show a specific type of button prompt.

Subtitles

For subtitles, we have options to:

• Show subtitles
• Show speaker name
• Subtitle text size
• Box opacity: adjust translucency of the background box behind the subtitle.
• Speaker color: change color of the subtitle speaker.
• Dialogue color: change color of the subtitle dialogue.

Video

For video, we have options to:

• Adjust brightness
• Adjust field of view (FOV)

Audio

For audio, we have options to:

• Adjust master volume
• Adjust sound effects volume
• Adjust music volume
• Adjust voice volume
• Toggle speaker setup: options include stereo, surround, or mono.
• Toggle reverb effects on/off: toggles atmospheric/echo audio effects.

Language

• Language: Choose between 15 supported languages. Translated languages in Skin Deep include:
  • English
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Spanish (Latin America)
  • Spanish (Spain)
    
  • Japanese
  • Korean
  • Polish
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Portuguese (Portugal)
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • Chinese (Traditional)

  • Turkish
• Translation prompts:
  • The translation prompt is a small box that appears that displays translated text of what you’re looking at.
  • The Translation Prompt behavior can be changed to be: Automatic, Always On, Always Off.

Keyboard/mouse

• Keyboard/mouse controls: buttons/keys are fully re-bindable.
• Toggle crouch toggle/hold: this controls whether crouch is a button tap or button hold behavior.
• Mouse invert
• Mouse sensitivity

Gamepad settings

For gamepad controls, players have options to:

• Gamepad controls: buttons are fully re-bindable.
• Toggle crouch toggle/hold: this controls whether crouch is a button tap or button hold behavior.
• Invert look
• Toggle vibration
• Adjust stick deadzone
• Adjust look sensitivity
• Adjust look acceleration
• Adjust menu cursor speed
• Swap left/right sticks
